All about growing flowers, veggies, and herbs
I don’t know why, but I have always been hesitant to grow carrots in containers even though I have been a container gardener for years. I thought that a container would just not give them enough space to grow properly. I also thought they would be difficult to grow. Well it turns out that none of these things is true with ‘Tonda di Parigi’ carrots! They are SO easy to grow and SUPER delicious!!
I LOVE sweet peas! The flowers are so gorgeous, and that fragrance!!! Incomparable! Where I live it is impossible to find sweet pea seedlings available for purchase, so I have no choice but to start my own. I met with lots of failure until I finally figured out the secret. If your sweet pea seeds won’t germinate, try what worked for me….
It is possible that this has been the hottest July ever! It is also possible that I say that every year LOL. I am rarely prepared for the onslaught of daily temperatures over 100 degrees, and many of the plants don’t like it either. One plant that LOVES the heat is the easy to grow Pelargonium, more commonly known as geranium. Not to be confused with the hardy geraniums botanically known as Geranium. Confused yet?
Am I the only one already dreaming about next year’s sweet pea blooms? I hope not! Ok, maybe I’m just the teeniest bit obsessed with these amazing flowers…but I know that in order to be successful growing sweet peas in my super hot climate (California’s Mojave Desert zone 8b) I need to get plants started this fall. With this in mind, I thought I would do a quick post on the best places to buy sweet pea seeds online.
